달팽이가든은 송도해상케이블카의 상부 스카이파키에 설치된 놀이시설겸 환경조형물이다.
이 곳은 거꾸로 가는 시계를 중심으로 눈부신 햇살같은 컬러의 달팽이들이 멈추어 서있는 풀밭이다. 각각의 달팽이들은 종이접기(오리가미) 방식의 다양한 수학적 변주로 디자인되어 아날로그적인 감성을 품고있다. 이 작품은 세계 3대 디자인 어워드인 reddot award, IDEA award를 비롯 국내외 어워드에서 여러차례 수상했다.
The memories that had been deeply sitting in our daily lives and are suddenly pushed in like a calm wind are the moment that our lives seem to cometo a halt.
The snails in the grass field wearing the colors of shining sunlight sit around the clock that goes backwards. Each snail with different origami designs create an analogue ambiance.
In this place where time goes backwards, we go on a slow trip against the stunning moments of our lives that seem to everlasting stay in the present.
