송도거북섬의 탄생설화에 따르면 예로부터 송도 바다에는 수호신인 용이 살고 있어서 간절히 바라는 한가지 소원을 들어준다고 전해온다. 전설속의 용의 발현을 모티브로 제작된 이 작품은 총 길이 24.728미터, 높이 약5.5미터의 규모로 165개 레이어의 철판이 모여 요동치는 용의 움직임을 형상화하고 있다. 용의 몸통에는 10,754개의 홀이 뚫려 있어 소원을 적은 용비늘을 부착할 수 있다.

 From ancient times, the Songdo Sea is considered to be an important holy place where a dragon lives. This work, which is created with the motif of a dragon’s reincarnation, is 23.728 meters in total length and about 5 meters in height. It is composed of 165 layers of steel plates that gather together to form the movement of a swaying dragon. The dragon, which is biting onto a golden cintamani, is wriggling to ascend towards the sky. There are 10,754 holes in the body so it is possible to attach the dragon scales through these holes.
